The Mary Seton Corboy Award recognizes a leader in the field of community applied horticulture or agriculture who personally and through his or her work meets all the following criteria:
- Applies excellence in horticulture/agriculture to advance and strengthen community development
- Acts on a personal responsibility to address social issues with a specific solution
- Is a visionary force for broad based attitudinal shifts and behavior change
- Directs a personal passion into a way to serve and help others
