Agastache 'Bolero'

Agastache, commonly called giant hyssop, are perennials mainly native to North America.  Agastache hybrids like 'Bolero' are planted for their attractive flowers and better winter hardiness. Agastache are attractive to bees, hummingbirds and butterflies.

Amaranth

Though it's typically considered a weed and is commonly called pigweed, Amaranth makes a beautiful ornamental plant.  Amaranth consists of approximately 60 species and its foliage can vary from purple and red to green and gold. It is an annual or short-lived perennial.

Andropogon gerardii 'Red October'

Andropogon gerardii, commonly called big bluestem grass, is a perennial warm season grass from the Midwest. 'Red October' makes an excellent ornamental grass because it changes colors with the seasons, has interesting seed heads, and is low maintenance.

Asparagus 'Jersey Giant'

Asparagus makes a delightful ornamental plant. A hardy perennial, it can grow 6-8 feet high with lacy, ornamental foliage. It can add dimension to a garden or make an excellent screen when planted along a fence.

When grown for food production, an asparagus bed will take 2-3 years to produce a crop. Once it reaches maturity, asparagus can produce a good harvest for 20 to 30 years with the proper care.  'Jersey Giant' is a high yield, pest resistant asparagus with high quality, good tasting spears.

The Darrow Blueberry is a hardy perennial in zones 5-7 and provides delicious fruit.

Echeveria

Echeveria is a type of succulent with well over 100 different species and varieties. All echeveria have succulent leaves which form in a rosette pattern.

Hibiscus acetosella

Considered a hardy hibiscus, Hibiscus acetosella is often grown as an annual for its deep burgandy-red, maple-like leaves.

Nemesia

Considered a cool weather annual, Nemesia can reach 6-12" tall and are grown for their attractive flowers.

Perovskia atriplicifolia 'Superba'

Commonly called Russian sage, Perovskia atriplicifolia is a woody perennial which is drought tolerant and preferes full sun. 'Superba' provides a long summer bloom period and is aromatic when the leaves are crushed.

Salvia silvestris 'May Night'

Salvia, commonly known as wood sage, is a drought tolerant perennial. 'May Night' is a compact variety which produces stalks of small, two-lipped, violet-blue flowers.

Schizachyrium scoparium 'Standing Ovation'

Commonly called little bluestem, Schizachyrium scoparium is a perennial in zones 3 to 9.  'Standing Ovation' makes an excellent ornamental grass because of its abilty to tolerate poor soil conditions.  It is deer and drought resistant. Most importantly, it is quite attractive and changes color in the fall.

Sedum 'Autumn Joy'

Sedum, scientific name Hylotelephium, is a herbaceous perennial which blooms from September to October. Commonly called stonecrop, its flowers begin pink and turn to a deep, then rusty, red as the season progresses.

Symphyotrichum oblongifolium Aster 'Raydon's Favorite'

'Raydon's Favorite' is a perennial aster with an aromatic foliage. It has blue-purple, daisy-like flowers which bloom in the fall. It is highly attractive to butterflies.

Tamarix ramosissima 'Pink Cascade'

Tamarix is a thicket forming shrub or small tree which can grow 6 to 15 feet tall. It has pink blooms and juniper-like foliage. It is beautiful but use caution, in warm winter areas Tamarix can be highly invasive.
